Top 5 REALTOR Magazine Tools That You Don't Know About

By DeeinAustin™

NOTE: The title and additional content added 1/3/08.

The January issue of Realtor Magazine will be a little different in 2008. The National Association of REALTORS® launched their Young Real Estate Professionals Network (YPN) nationwide at the November 2007 annual convention in Vegas.

Rmcoverjan2008_2 The purpose of the YPN is to provide resources and additional support to meet the needs of young real estate agents, mortgage brokers and other professionals. I will be one of the YPN Featured Bloggers in 2008.

While, most consumers are keenly aware of Realtor.com since it's been the top home search site in the world for years, you may not be aware of the many tools offered at Realtor.ORG, including REALTOR Magazine Online.

When I became a real estate investor, before becoming an agent, I used real estate agent tools like REALTOR.org (not Dotcom) and Realtor Magazine for research and to stay updated. Both resources have a great deal of information and features that consumers should find useful.

TOP 5 REALTOR MAGAZINE (ONLINE) TOOLS THAT YOU PROBABLY DON'T KNOW ABOUT

  1. Residential Architecture Guide. Wow. Now this is pretty helpful. Do you know the difference between a Creole, Gothic or Craftsman style home? What are dormers and various looks? This guide tells it all.
  2. Handouts for Consumers. These useful consumer guides provide everything you want to know about buying, selling and fixing up your home. They were created by the National Association of Realtors (NAR) based on their research and are meant to be separate documents that you can quickly print or email.
  3. Cost Vs. Value Report. This is a hot feature each year. The cost versus value reports come from several industry resources, including polls and MLS data. How much will you get back from a major kitchen remodel? Minor one? How about adding a garage? NAR gives you the information you need to make the right decision.
  4. Top 100 Real Estate Companies. This shows you the top movers, shakers, and money-makers in the industry.
  5. Latest news and commentaries. This is where the NAR president, writers, featured columnists, and bloggers (like me!) provide the latest updates on the industry. Some features are funny while others are a more authoritative voice on what's happening in the industry and how it affects you.

I added a link to my first post, which is about mobile marketing in real estate. I'm looking forward to blog writing for Realtor Mag and will see how it goes.

Great post Dee. These are some great tools.

Thanks! I think consumers and agents can all use Realtor.com to learn a lot about the market. The link that I provided to mobile marketing tools should be used as much as possible. Instant information is where the marketing movement will be.
