The Round Rock (Texas) City Council is seeking approval to rename FM 1460 before the two-lane road is converted into a four-lane highway in the fall of 2007. The 10-mile-long road runs between Round Rock and Georgetown. Two subdivisions of 4,000 homes were recently approved along FM 1460, and although current road use ranges from 3,000 to 10,000 cars daily, greater use is anticipated. Round Rock officials plan to ask Georgetown leaders to also use whatever the new name is when FM 1460 enters their city.
The City Council will seek public input on the new name before making a decision.
