I'm old enough to remember when computers first hit the consumer shelves. Personal computers revolutionized the way the business world worked and the way human beings communicate with each other. Then came cell phones, video chat and conferencing, and broadband internet, which further connected far ends of the continent.
I believe we're in another revolutionary time, where mobile technology applications will put our communication in warp speed (Star Trek term, for readers Generation Y and younger).
WHY MOBILE TECHNOLOGIES WILL CHANGE REAL ESTATE
I did an interview with Glen at Inman News last week to discuss the use of mobile tech in real estate. I made a bold statement, which was that
any real estate agent, buyer, seller or investor who does not master
the use of text messaging and other mobile applications in 2008 will miss the
boat.
Some agents think having a "sticky" website or blog will put them ahead of the curve, but I think communicating with current and potential clients via a cell phone or PDA is an absolute requirement.
Mobile tech such as text messaging, SMS flyers, and mobile video on demand are a must, especially in slower markets. With 76% of the nation using text messaging, advertisers and other companies have stepped onto the bandwagon to get information to consumers INSTANTLY.
QUICK LIST OF APPLICATIONS THAT I USE DAILY
- BuyerAcquire is a new generation of the home hotline. Listing information is automatically pulled from MLS and I don't have to track sign codes, so the tool makes me more efficient. I receive an email and text message when there's a call on one of my listings.
- DriveBuy allows buyers to receive listings information via a text message. The agent is also notified via text and can instantly answer questions using the same method.
- Vflyer allows me to send e-flyers to cell phones via SMS.
- Top Producer is the only database an agent needs. We can track our listings, database, closings and schedules right on a phone or PDA.
- Zipforms recently launched their mobile application, which allows real estate contracts to be created on your PDA.

Innofest 2007
Innominds is planning to organize its 2nd Annual Convention and Customer meet (InnoFest 2007) in Santa Clara, CA on Friday, November 16th, 2007.
The common theme of Innofest2007 is “Defining business models and partnership objectives to gear up global growth strategies for the participants in the IT ecosystem”. During the Convention Party they plan on identifying and debating fundamental issues that will shape the future of innovation and software product development in the lines of the common theme.
Innofest2007 will be attended by Innominds’ ISV customers, business partners, prospect ISVs, VCs and industry analysts. The event provides a platform that would enable the players of this ecosystem to interact. It will be an opportunity for you to meet your peer community and learn from their business practices, potential partners, funding houses who may be interested in your products and analysts who may want to write about you in their features.
