I receive questions each week from real estate agents, small business owners and other professionals about mobile marketing tools and where they can find more information.
Mobile software is used on mobile devices such as the iPhone, BlackBerry, PDAs, and/or other cell phones and handheld devices. Some are specifically for real estate while others have more general applications.
This article lists the the top mobile real estate or business tools that stand out in today's marketplace.
Top Mobile Real Estate Tools for Home Buyers
Home buyers typically want to search for listings information from their phone. Besides listing information, some mobile sites and software provides also provide local real estate information and chat. A few top home buyer tools:
- For the Mobile Home Search, try Trulia and Realtor.com. Both provide home searches via their mobile sites for the iPhone and have other platforms in the works.
- A great solution for displaying IDX Listings is Diverse Solutions. I'm switching from MLS Finder because Google Streetview is incorporated.
- Mobile Chat applications let agents connect with potential clients on the go or directly from their site. DSagentchat by Diverse Solutions is a relatively new contender. iPhone users can give MobileChat Beta a try. Popular web-based platforms include Meebo and Userplane, which may go mobile soon.
Top Mobile Tools for Home Sellers
- Mobile Virtual Tours can be delivered straight to your cell phone with TourFactory fully integrated. A buyer can press 0 to speak to your agent immediately and company has as a content partnership with Sprint's Vision Network.
- Drop the tired old "toll free information hotline" and provide instant home info via text message with tools such as CellSigns, DriveBuy, or Goomzee.
- Mobile Listing Websites are on the rise, with Vflyer.com and other property websites leading. These tools syndicate your listing to sites like Trulia and Googlebase, but also provide easy-to-use templates for classified ad sites like Craigslist and Backpage.
Artists, restaurant owners, retailers, entertainers and other types of businesses joined the party some time ago using social networking and content tools to grow their businesses and keep in touch with fans.
- Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, Linked In and other social networking tools have all enhanced how we communicate on our mobile phones.
